I feel like this is a common ‘smart person’ stance, and if you’re also smart it may make sense to you, since you also trust your ability to appropriately gauge road conditions and adapt as needed. The problem is for every ‘smart’ person there are like 10 average people and 20 absolute morons who will absolutely NOT reliably make the correct choices. Pleasantly surprised by the response to this and it’s coming at a time when I’ve already been getting more and more antsy art-wise! I’ve found the latter group to actually not have a coherent vision for their future wife, even if they had specific preferences in mind. Like, some of their desires would be conflicting, eg wanting someone low maintenance, but also wanting someone polished enough to be gala ready. I think some of this conflict arises when there are preferences that do make sense for them to have in a compatible partner mixed in with preferences that come from unresolved issues they need to work on in themselves, which is also unsurprising to find in the latter group. Been running into issues with this a lot. I’ve found that when I ask questions without research mode on, I often get an incorrect or out of date response. WITH research mode on its super field dependent on whether or not the info I want is gated, to the point where I added custom instructions to surface source gaps. This has made it clear how often the results are lacking any necessary depth. I feel like right now there are two branches: people locking out AI because they plan on building their own ‘ai search’ for their sites, or those who have no intention but still lock down their data. As more and more people use AI to filter through the ever growing mess of fake reviews/sites it’s going to be crucial to find some way for companies with actual real data to get that to people without tanking the cost on their end. The alternative is more of what she describes in this video: a whole ecosystem of competing slop, generated by the same tools that allow us to sort through mountains of slop. It’s NOT roughly the same amount of exposed arm displayed and NOT in the same way. I am a rolled sleeve evangelist. A rolled sleeve rolled to either the forearm 3/4 sleeve point or even the elbow give a silhouette of compressed fabric around the widest visible part of the arm. A short sleeved shirt floats away from the bicep at the visible widest part of the arm, which can also be a nice look but they are definitely not displaying the same amount of arm nor framing it in the same way. I might get roasted for this but everything mentioned is something that humans regularly fail at. I don’t think AI can currently replace the best operators, or the top equivalent in any field really. What it can usually* do reasonably successfully is make sure no one gets the worst possible experience. It raises the floor. What I’d love to see is (for this and any other profession where the argument is for human excellence being necessary and non negotiable) is how many people realistically get access to that vs average vs poor results, and also whether AI raises the floor enough to make it worth the potential loss of access to that top slice of excellence. Which is understandable when we still live in an era where it’s a common sight during holidays in many families for men to sit around and drink while women do all the prep work. Millenials are like 1 generation removed from the era of women being able to have their own bank accounts for the first time without a father or husband’s permission. I think this is really difficult to measure without getting pretty granular with it because of how social norms shift over time. I think probably a disappointingly small number would qualify as ‘good’ by modern day standards but that’s also because things like corporal punishment and women not being able to own property or have bank accounts, etc were the norm. I think it’s always been a tradeoff. Back in the day, the quality of life a woman could expect while unpartnered was pretty limited and grim, so it was worth it to put up with a lot more negatives from men. I don’t think men have adapted/adjusted/risen to the occasion as fast as opportunities have opened up for women to have fulfilling lives without having to tolerate partners with more negative aspects than they desire. An example I have is dating someone who came from poverty and ended up in elite circles, who was SUPER insecure about any hints of ‘low class’ behavior in himself. The closer you get when you’re dating someone with porous boundaries/interpersonal issues (or maybe in general?) the more they view you as an extension of themselves. So over time, behaviors of mine that were initially fine became triggers for that ‘low class’ fear. Again I think trying to finagle a percentage value for “good men” from this is nonviable. The cycle that I see in more rural areas where cars are necessary for basic living/having a job is that people can commit multiple infractions without losing their license because people are (somewhat reasonably) reticent to take away that functionality and give them no way to rebuild their life, essentially.
